Join the Emiko Studios team for weekly sewing classes at Miru Mill. These classes are suitable for anyone who wants to learn more skills in sewing - for beginners and more experienced alike!
The classes will operate on a rolling basis, every Tuesday evening from 6pm to 8pm, at Miru Mill, 21 Lavender’s Brow, Stockport, SK11YW.
We cannot offer refunds for missed classes; however, any payment for a missed class can be transferred to another class.
Please book onto the sessions by selecting a number below and completing your payment (e.g., if you plan to attend three sessions to begin with, you can pay for all three at once, or just one at a time). You will be supported by members of the team in projects of your choice, and we will teach you anything you would like to know. If you have any specific requests, feel free to ask.
You will further your skills going through each pattern; you will come across different challenges and learn new skills; we will teach you different methods for approaching details, adapting patterns, sewing on collars, making pockets, finishing hems, and more!
We will provide all threads, scissors, pins, etc. More info will be provided upon booking. When you start classes with us, you will be able to choose a clothing pattern to work from which will be included in the cost of the classes. We will ask that you buy your own fabric for making clothes; you are welcome to buy it in our store (we have an excellent range of organic and ethically sourced fabrics on offer), or source it elsewhere for yourself.
Initial projects available for beginners include making a tote bag (fabric provided), with the opportunity to adapt the provided pattern and be creative!
If you have a domestic sewing machine and would like guidance on how to use it, please feel free to bring it with you to any of the sessions! One of the team will be happy to take a look and guide you through using it.
